The trap door opens, hinging upward. Inside the floor cavity, lit from above by the garage work-lights — a single large, flight-cased black road case, hard-shell, vintage clasps, faded stickers from venues nobody alive has heard of: FILLMORE EAST · CBGB · WHISKY A GO-GO · RED ROCKS. The case fills the cavity. A faint green light seeps from a hairline gap along the case's lid seam, casting a sickly, beautiful glow up onto the faces of Jesse, Dev, and Marisol leaning over the opening.
